Bonneville Salt Flats - 2007
This is the sign from I-80:

Here is not a racer, just the old Autobahn Cruiser that got me there safely:

Towing the 946 car off to Tech Inspections:

Waiting in line:

Another car in our class (streamlining from the firewall forward is legal!) This "sports car" has more or less unknown sources and is a questionable entry. Under review as less than 50 were made. It went 247 just before we got to it!! This is shown in the "impound area" where cars that need to make a backup run sit without any modification. Turned out it had a blown head gasket so the 247 did not stick.

Out engine area: super charged, intercooler, stroked and fuel injected on gasoline. 800 hp rear wheels on the dyno. The little top manifold failed but we fixed it. the lower end was rock solid.

Starting line securing the driver. This is our people. the starters do additional securing, raise the net over the window, coach, etc. Very helpful officials. We ran a 179 but not stable. A lot of rear tire slippage; so it's back to the drawing boards!

These old cars were more prevalent last year. "What me worry?" (more rust is better!)

That's all for now.
