ACCESSORY DIETReceived engine 9/18/02:
1995 Ford Mustang Cobra engine, 52,000 miles.
Lots of accessories: smog pump, tensioner, alternator, idler, power steering pump, air conditioner compressor, water pump.
Took off 60 lbs of accessories and brackets. Progress 1/15/03:
Used the FFR idler pulley, ordering a March tomorrow. Notice ceramic coatings on stock headers done by Finishline Coatings here in Milwaukie, Oregon!
March undersize pulley on crank, oversize on water pump to save HP. March alternator pulley and tension rod. FFR idler pulley going away soon, but wanted to get the layout and belt length done. 1405 mm belt length.
Alternator on driver's side with a full wrap on it to prevent slip. Also good wrap on water pump without changing rotation direction. Simple mount for alternator 7/16" long bolt into head as pivot point with 1 7/8" spacer behind. This is SN95 block and front end. Still have no answer for the coil. Need a bracket idea. Received the March idler pulley:
Before putting in car, belt 1405 mm long.
Ready to install, T-5 and all. Note using nylon straps instead of chains.
Towel technology to prevent scratches in panels.
After in car 1-25-03 with thanks to help from neighbor, Bart. Only took 20 minutes. |
