BRAKE SYSTEM

Completed 1/11/03

Replaced cast iron Master Cylinder with aluminum one on 1/3/03

Jeep 1984

Used SS bolts.

Installed pre-flared SS lines from TriStates MotorSports (Mike Mack)

Installed proportioning valve made by "SS Brakes Company" bought locally from Baxter's

Drilled a 5/8" hole in the F-panel to attach flex line. Spacers from Discount Auto Imports.

fairly clean flex line on driver's side.

Crossover line in front is out of the way and clean.  Passenger's side flex line is clean as well.

Used the FFR brake line attaching clamps:

Used 3/16" rivets to attach instead of screws in FFR supply.  Cleaner, more reliable.

Rear line follows frame back, attaching to outboard tubes along the way, and to the frame in the rear as shown above.

The rear tee mounts up in the frame triangle, out of the way.  Used a tie-wrap and 2-sided tape to secure as drilling a hole in frame was impossible with my standard drill.

The rear crossover is clean and attaches in 2 points to the frame on the cross member.

Re-bent the lines at the proportioning valve Feb 10, 2003

Moved the prop valve over by the firewall so it can be attached.  (better picture later, sorry)  The sun made a shadow.

Added emergency brake cables:

Hard to see here, the cables simply hook on the stock T-Bird caliper in the back.

The thick black tube is the FFR supplied cable with built-in rubber cover.

The cables connect to holes provided in FFR frame.  Then they simply attach to the Mustang t-bar on the end of the handle cable.  Bolt on the handle, connect, done.  Short process, no questions on how or where things go.  Jon Enos helped on his visit on Feb 26, 2003.

P.S. Both these E-brake cables failed.  FFR sent new ones that are all black, no spiral; cable showing.
