SIDEPIPES EXCEED EXPECTATIONSArrived 11/8/02
By Body:
Close up, zero defects:
Inlet: Ceramic coated stock 1995 Mustang Cobra 5.0 headers: Installed on car 1-27-03
Hint: attach J-pipe to sidepipe first, then attach to engine header. Test fitted 1-27-03 Received J-Pipes back from Finishline Coatings 2/6/03. Finishline Coatings here in Oregon did a nice job on the headers and the J-pipes. Jet Hot did a nice job for FFR on the side pipe ceramic. From the outside of the car, the side pipes look like receiving exhaust from "4 into 4" style headers. The headers are 4-into-1 style, factory stock Ford Mustang Cobra, 1995. The rear support was done using a Mercedes rubber part that has a chain in it. It is rectangular and fits nicely: Making a small bracket from Aluminum angle bar. Riveting the bracket to the FFR frame with SS rivets, then using a 5/16" bolt to attach the rubber to the bracket. The bracket shown failed and was replaced Nov 04 with a straight vertical plate for the rubber to mount. New MufflersFall 2004 replaced FFR 18" glass packs with LOBAK (auger type)
muffler from phone
Also added Dynatech insert Vortex Cones (3.5" diameter) in the collector area purchased from Jeg's Performance Products:
After welding in the 24" Lobak's (3 1/2" diameter both ends) and new Ceramic Coating,
Installing on FFR:
And off the jack stands: Very pleased with the work done at Finish Line Coatings in Oregon, and also the sound reduction is "exactly right".
